2012 is off to a wonderful start. The whole family has already had the stomach flu. Sophia wound up in the emergency room at Children's Hospital in Seattle after falling down five steps at home, and at the moment it looks as though we may see a record setting snow fall (I have heard as little as 4" and as much as 16"). I sure hope that all the bad news is front loaded into the beginning of the year, leaving the rest of the year open for fun, health and prosperity. God bless you all!
I hope that everyone had a safe and happy New Year's holiday. I also hope that all of you have a healthy, wealthy and happy 2012. As for those of you asking about the continued use of the Christmas theme on the site... it is because it is still the Christmas season at the Bauer household. We celebrate January 7th (Russian Christmas) in addition to December 25th. So the Christmas theme will remain in place until January 8th (or so).
I probably won't update the site again until sometime after Christmas Day, so I wanted to take a moment to wish a Merry Christmas to all of you who celebrate the holiday on December 25th. I hope that everyone has a warm, safe and happy weekend/break, regardless of what you do or do not celebrate. Take care of each other and God bless you all!
I held back as long as I could, but in my book we are already into the second week of the "holiday season" and so the website should get themed in our yuletide livery. Of course, we have not really had a real Christmas theme up to this point, so I had to put it all together before I could actually use it. In truth, the new Winter Theme was orginally the base of the new holiday theme, but it just seemed too "wintry" and not "Christmasy" enough. Hopefully, this version of the holiday theme will feel a bit more like the holidays.
I plan to have a few more updates before the end of the year, but in case I don't get the chance, I hope that all of you (whoever and wherever you are) have a warm and happy holiday season... whether that means Christmas, Hanukkah, Kwanza or even Festivus. Just stay warm, safe and happy. Take care of each other and God bless!
It has been a very long time since I made a major overhaul of the default formatting/theming to the site, and as time has passed, I have grown a little tired of the overall look of the site, so I finally decided to shake things up a bit. So what you see now is the new default winter livery for the site. I hope you like it, and I hope that all of you had a great weekend. Take care and God bless!
